Weddell seals are found all around the coasts of Antarctica, and as far south as the McMurdo sound. Right now they’re here hanging out on top of the sea ice, hiding from orcas and essentially hibernating. Apparently when they swim into the sound they range from 800-1000 lbs, but when they leave they’re closer to 500-600 or so. I really don’t know too much about them, but here’s the Wikipedia link.
Unfortunately this guy in the picture wasn’t being too active, so no exciting video for you all 😦 Even the picture isn’t that exciting since they just lay there and occasionally roll over or wave their flippers.
